[JPOP] Namida by Spitz lyrics + translation (Honey & Clover II insert song)

NAMIDA by SPITZ (Honey & Clover II episode 10 insert song)

Kimi no matsuge de yureteru suishou no tsubu

Translation:

A drop of liquid dances on your eyelids
you're actually all alone
The vast ocean of time expands
Beyond the opn, green door drawn on the wall.
But you'll begin to notice
that your
that your world isn't the same anymore
on the night when the moonlight reflects on your tears
When it reflects on your tears

You were chosen to become a goddess
but nobody noticed
And with your freed soul
you'll begin to walk away immediately
on the night when the moonlight reflects on your tears
When it reflects on your tears

After looking forever for the lyrics of Spitz's Namida (thank you menismastah for sharing the song with me!), I found it in the All System's Ready, Let's Go imeem site with lyrics shared by aridela.

I feel so happy! This is one of my favorite insert songs in Honey and Clover II, played on episode 10. Coincidentally, my favorite song from Honey and Clover I is Sakana by Spitz, also aired on episode 10. What's with episode 10 and personal favorites? ^_^

[ANIME] Honey and Clover II ending review & screencaps

Spoiler alert! And to better get into the last episode's senti atmosphere, play Hakou by Suga Shikao, quick! ^_~

Honey & Clover I & II is now officially on my list of must-see anime in the slice of life genre. What started out as a trivial story spanned years of friendship, unrequited love, new romance, heartaches, hopes, dreams, and above all the quest to find the self amidst all this chaos.

"I'd been wondering all these time...
..whether there's any meaning to a failed love.
Is it something that will disappear
the same as something that never existed?
Now I know.
There is a meaning.
There was a meaning... Right here."

The anime ends with the characters graduating from college and going their own separate ways, each finding their respective paths in life.

Takemoto, our main guy, accepts his unrequited love for Hagu but realizes that it was not for nothing. His heart breaks upon opening his parting package from Hagu (the only one who saw him off at the Shinkansen), a multi-layered sandwich filled with honey and four-leaf clovers (which are so hard to find, and takes time and a lot of effort to spot). It would take some time for him to let go of Hagu, I think. He loved her too much for too long. But the too is and will remain the best of friends. He is now bound for work restoring temples around the country.

Morita
confronts the darkness from his past and has come full circle, realizing why he does the things he does, almost bringing Hagu down with him in his darkest hour. He has (sort of) accepted his failed love for Hagu also, and is now in America working for Peter Lucas (Peter Jackson meets George Lucas?) after he and his brother Kaoru successfully bought back the company their father founded. He too, in his own way, is letting go of Hagu, even giving Hanamoto a whole box full of cash to help her in her three-year rehabilitation.

Yamada seems to be healing now, almost getting over her much-too-long unrequited love for Mayama. The awesome Nomiya is helping her along, always being there for her, even though for now he is in the (usually) losing position as the rebound/guy-friend. But she'll come around, and when she does she will find that her prince is beside her all the time, just waiting for her.

Mayama seems to have finally persuaded Rika to accept his love, although for now she does not seem to return his affections in either words or actions. But she did say that ever since Mayama came to Spain, she felt much more comfortable, and is now able to sleep well at night. So that's kind of a good sign for both of them, though their relationship will take too long and too slow to develop as they are still haunted with the ghost of Harada (in Rika's case).

Ahhh... and Hagu, the one character who breaks everyone's hearts. She sees Takemoto as a very dear friend, is in love with Morita, but chose to stay with Hanamoto in the end. Her reasons are something one would not usually find in the shoujo-josei genre. She chose her art over her love, and the best person who can help her achieve her dreams is Hanamoto, who has always been with her, always, and will be with her forever. Although it was a shock to many who were wishing for either Takemoto or Morita for her to end up with, this ending befits her character's personality the most.

True, to Hagu, love is not everything. And I admire that inner strength of hers. Even though there is a possibility she might not be able to feel any sensation in her right hand, she is determined to overcome this obstacle, to realize her dream.

Hanamoto, shockingly, is in love with Hagu. And it's does not seem to be cousinly love either. He blushed so much when he realized Yamada was right behind him when he shouted to Morita that he loves Hagu very much. Incest?! O_o Any thoughts/corrections on this will be greatly appreciated.

"As time passes,
the day will come when everything
will fade to memories.
But, those miraculous days,
when you and I,
along with everyone else,
searched together for just that one thing...
will continue revolving forever...
somewhere deep in my heart
as my bittersweet memory."

Like the Ferris Wheel that is featured prominently throughout the anime, Honey & Clover is basically implying that life goes on, up and down, up and down, but it would be better to ride it out with cherished memories made with friends and loved ones. And to treasure those memories forever.

Unrequited love seems to be the recurring theme in this series, as Yamada's love for Mayama, Mayama's for Rika (but that may change), Takemoto's for Hagu, and even Morita's for Hagu (though Hagu loves him, it goes unconfessed, with intent).

We may not always get what we want in this life, but like Takemoto-kun, we can always pedal on the bicycle of life, left foot, right foot, up and down, revolving alternately, many, many times... until the day we find ourselves standing at Wakkanai... no, at the place where we have finally realized our dreams.

[AUDIO] Sakana by Spitz (lyrics + video) Honey and Clover

Mou... I'm so addicted to this song. Though the lyrics' imagery seem a bit wanting, the melody more than makes up for it. XD This is the insert song for episode 10 of Honey and Clover. SPITZ + Suga Shikao = LOVE. <3 style="font-weight: bold;">SAKANA by SPITZ

[ANIME] Honey and Clover ending review + screencaps

"Who cares about answers? There aren't any to begin with. All that matters is whether you tried until you were content."

I just finished watching season 1 of Honey and Clover, and I take back everything I've said when I watched the first two episodes. This is such an ugly duckling of an anime that the ending is every bit as enthralling as the first episode is boring. For me that is. ^_^V I'm really really glad I gave it a try. The story just keeps getting better and better as it progresses, and you find yourself cheering for the characters, wishing so much that they finally find the happiness they deserve.

It's already 5am so I won't say much now and catch up on sleep first, but I took about a hundred screengrabs. The art is so beautiful to look at, I just had to do it. ^_^

Towards the end, Honey and Clover had its Boys Be moments too, complete with compelling quotes and gentle, nostalgic background music. Of course I wrote those quotes down. Who says anime can't be informative?

"Let's keep on riding, carrying the important things along. The future beyond control... The insecurity... The doubts... The feelings beyond reach... The dreams that can't be realized... The self that can't throw everything away... And the days that won't give answers."

As far as slice of life goes, this one's pretty much close to home. Ouch.

I'm already 26 and I still don't know the answers.

^_~

Will post more reviews and screencaps! I got a hundred! ^_^

[WALLPAPERS] Honey and Clover + review

Thank goodness I continued watching Honey and Clover. Admittedly the first two episodes failed to win me over. The art was different and took some time getting used to. Also, the character of Hagu turned me off at first. It was Morita, the resident eccentric, who kept me interested, so I tried watching again.

It turned out the story runs deeper and there are a lot of things about these characters I have yet to discover. The dynamics of the relationships of these five college students are unfolding before my eyes, and I find myself holding my breath, waiting for what happens next. *sigh* Unrequited love doesn't get any heartfelt than this.

I'm at episode 12 right now, and I can't help but screengrab while watching so I can make wallpapers. Hehe. <3 onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_BcZXvP3yK_c/RyD657OzNEI/AAAAAAAAATw/bRa9GsEHSzo/s1600-h/hagu.jpg">

[MANGA] Rurouni Kenshin Vol 1 scans (Samurai X)

Last night I was thinking about all the manga I wanted to read back in college (8 years ago?) - such as I's and Rurouni Kenshin - but were not able to. So feeling a little sentimental I decided to read volume one of RK. The only RK manga I've read before was a chapter in Shounen Jump, a meeting between Kenshin and his master, Seijuro Hiko. The otaku in me even had it photocopied (a friend owns it, huhuhu. The copy is still with me, heh, though a bit yellowed due to age). Rurouni Kenshin is still way up there as one of my favorite series - a sweeping historical story filled with action, comedy, and just the right amount of romance. Not to mention it has one of the most awesome soundtracks ever for an anime.

Volume 1 surprised me. The art is much too gorgeous for the first few pages of a manga. The mangaka Nobuhiro Watsuki really knows his stuff. And then imagine my shock when I read his comments in one of the pages that he can't believe he's getting tons of fan mail, especially for a first time writer like him. First time writer?! Oro!!!

Wai I love RK! The memories... ^_^

[MANGA] Kare Kano Vol 19 Act 91 reaction/review (may contain spoilers)

Kareshi Kanojo no Jijyo (Kare Kano) Volume 19 extreme reaction: Act 91 (may contain spoilers)

OH. MY. GOD.

I can't get over what I'm seeing right now, a two-page spread within Act 91 (too spoilerish so I used the scan for Act 90 instead) that will turn everything you thought you know about Kare Kano upside down. I was screaming. I took one good look at the spread, screamed, got up from my chair, went to the living room, thinking I cannot go on because this scene is too much for the win. It's the climax, right? Everything goes downhill from here, right? I was wrong.

I turned the page, and my heart just froze. You have got to be kidding me. This can't be real, what I'm seeing. The pinnacle of the story, the one detail that took my breath away, was just the beginning. There is more. And more.

I LOVE KARE KANO! Who would ever think the story would turn out like this? Everything comes together now, the story has come full circle. In a good way. In a woah!noshit!you'vegottobekiddingme kind of way.

"You really do look a lot like me... I always thought I didn't want you. I'm sorry..."

*sigh* I just want to let it out, these feelings. Nope I don't think it would be wise to post the aforementioned scans. I'd be breaking your heart with all those spoilers. Read Kare Kano.

Reiji Arima, even if you're not the marrying type, I'd marry you in a heartbeat.

I never knew he could turn the story around like that, and shatter all my preconceived notions about him. I liked him when I first saw him, and even after I've gotten to know his character fairly well... or so I thought. In this volume he pours his heart out and gives voice to his real feelings... and it opens up a whole new window into looking at his character. To say that his characterization is well thought-out and compelling is a gross understatement.

A few more pages of volume 19 to go, and two more volumes before this manga ends. I'm so sorry it had to end, and soon. T_T
